Junior Associate – National Professional Indemnity – Bristol – 1+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol (Hybrid)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £50,000 to £65,000 (depending on experience)
A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Junior Associate (1+ PQE) to join its National Professional Indemnity (NPI) team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a market leading insurance and professional risks practice, handling complex, high value matters for major insurers, financial institutions, and a wide range of professional clients.
The Role
You’ll manage a varied and challenging caseload involving professional liability and coverage matters, including:
- Defending civil claims against professionals such as solicitors, accountants, IFAs, brokers, surveyors, architects, and other regulated practitioners
- Handling complex, multi party disputes at both pre action and litigated stages
- Advising on policy coverage issues, including key trigger points and indemnity considerations
- Supporting on regulatory and disciplinary investigations
- Running your own files while contributing to larger strategic matters under partner guidance
- Building strong relationships with insurer clients and supporting business development
- Contributing to team initiatives, practice management, and knowledge sharing
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:
- Minimum 1 year PQE (PQE is a guide; all strong candidates considered)
- Experience in professional indemnity, financial lines, or insurance coverage disputes
- Strong understanding of FCA regulated environments and FOS procedures
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and strategic case handling skills
- Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload independently
- Intellectual versatility across coverage and liability issues
- A developing network within the insurance market (advantageous)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and client facing skills
- Completion of a Training Contract (or equivalent) and required legal qualifications
