Solicitor – Contract & Commercial Litigation – Bristol – PQE 2+
Location: Bristol (Hybrid or Fully Remote Options)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full time
Salary: £40,000 to £55,000
A national law firm is seeking a Contract & Commercial Litigation Solicitor or FCILEx to join its busy and supportive Contract Resolution Group within the Civil Litigation Division. This is an excellent opportunity to handle a varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters in a collaborative environment that values flexibility, quality work and professional development.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters (excluding personal injury), including:
- Contract disputes arising from the sale of goods and services
- Commercial and consumer contract claims
- Misrepresentation
- Professional negligence
- Construction and building contract disputes
- Fast, intermediate and multi track matters
- Acting for both Claimants and Defendants
- Liaising with clients by phone and in person
- Progressing files using the firm’s case management system
- Managing billing and invoicing
You will work closely with experienced senior lawyers and benefit from a supportive team culture focused on development and high quality service.
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified lawyer with:
- PQE experience in civil or commercial litigation
- Strong experience advising on contract based disputes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- A pragmatic, solutions focused approach
- Confidence managing your own caseload
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Experience working with insurer funded clients (desirable)
Qualifications:
- Solicitor (LLB/CILEx route), or
- FCILEx, or
- Equivalent experience
