Location: Flexible across UK offices (with hybrid working)

Salary: £45,000 to £60,000

A leading national law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Conflicts Advisor to join its Risk & Compliance function. This is an exciting opportunity to support the firm’s client and matter onboarding processes, lateral hire screening, and conflict of interest management. The role sits within the Can I Act (CIA) team, a specialist group focused on business protection and regulatory compliance.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for assessing new mandates and advising on conflicts and compliance issues. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing conflict reports and identifying legal, commercial, or reputational risks
  • Advising legal teams on conflict search results and clearance procedures
  • Investigating new and amended instructions for potential conflicts
  • Liaising with partners and fee earners to resolve conflicts of interest
  • Establishing information barriers and managing insider lists
  • Supporting informed consent processes and documenting conditions for mandate acceptance
  • Maintaining conflict records and systems (including Intapp and blackbook)
  • Assisting with training, policy updates, and internal communications
  • Escalating complex queries to senior risk team members
  • Contributing to strategic improvements and development of CIA processes


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a compliance professional with:

  • A graduate-level education and 3+ years’ experience in risk and compliance
  • Strong knowledge of professional conflict rules in England & Wales (Scotland and NI preferred)
  • Experience using Intapp or similar onboarding tools
  • Practical understanding of conflict identification and management
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage workload and stakeholder expectations
  • A collaborative mindset and commercial awareness
