Senior Associate / Director – Pensions – Bristol – 6+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol (with hybrid flexibility)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £85,000 to £120,000 (depending on experience)
A leading national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Director to join its highly respected and expanding Pensions team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to take on high profile work within a collaborative, forward thinking environment, advising employers, trustees and public bodies across the full spectrum of pensions law.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for advising on a broad range of pensions matters, including:
- Risk reduction and transfer exercises (buy ins, buyouts, alternative funding arrangements)
- PPF assessment periods, scheme rescues and high profile insolvencies
- Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) matters across England and Wales
- Corporate transactions, scheme mergers, restructurings and wind ups
- Complex pensions litigation, including professional negligence and Part 8 claims
- Supporting the operation of one of the UK’s leading independent trustee companies
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development
- Working closely with colleagues across the national team to deliver high quality, commercial advice
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a pensions specialist with:
- 6+ years PQE in non contentious pensions work
- Experience advising employers, trustees or public bodies
- Strong technical knowledge across the areas outlined above
- Excellent communication and client handling skills
- A proactive, commercial and solutions focused approach
- Confidence managing complex matters with appropriate autonomy
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
The firm is open to appointing at Senior Associate or Director level, depending on experience.
