Partner – Residential Property – Cardiff – 8–10+ Years PQE
Location: Cardiff
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £70,000 to £90,000 (depending on experience)
A respected and long established law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Property Partner to lead its Cardiff Residential Property Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior residential property specialist with strong leadership capability, technical expertise, and commercial acumen to drive the strategic development of a growing department within a progressive, full service practice.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for leading and developing the residential property function in Cardiff, including:
- Leading and managing the residential property team to ensure consistent performance and service delivery
- Handling a reduced caseload of complex residential property matters
- Setting, monitoring, and reviewing team KPIs and performance targets
- Acting as the technical escalation point for complex legal and compliance issues
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, introducers, and referrers
- Overseeing post completion processes to ensure regulatory compliance
- Identifying operational improvements and implementing workflow efficiencies
- Working closely with senior management to deliver strategic growth and financial objectives
- Attending group onboarding at an alternative office on your first day, requiring travel
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a senior legal professional with:
- Qualified Solicitor or Licensed Conveyancer status with extensive residential property experience (8–10+ years)
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams
- Strong technical knowledge, including leases, transfer of part transactions, and regulatory compliance
- Commercial awareness and confidence in networking and business development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance fee earning with leadership responsibilities
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build trust with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
- A strategic mindset with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement
