Senior Associate+ – Clinical Negligence – Cardiff – 5+ Years PQE
Location: Cardiff
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £55,000 to £80,000 (depending on experience)
A leading national law firm is seeking a Principal Associate / Senior Associate+ to join its specialist Healthcare team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly respected department handling complex, high value defendant clinical negligence matters, with strong opportunities for progression and involvement in client facing initiatives.
The Role
You will manage a varied and high value caseload of defendant clinical negligence claims while contributing to the wider development of the team. Responsibilities include:
- Managing litigated and pre litigated clinical negligence cases
- Conducting investigations to repudiate and/or conclude claims
- Liaising with claimants, solicitors, clients, counsel and medical experts
- Obtaining documentation and instructing experts
- Leading or contributing to business development and operational initiatives
- Completing MI procedures and adhering to client protocols
- Meeting financial and chargeable targets
- Ensuring deadlines, quality standards and KPIs are met
- Supporting and developing junior lawyers
- Working in line with the firm’s values and policies
Candidate Requirements
You will be a qualified solicitor with at least 5 years’ PQE and bring:
- A genuine interest in the healthcare sector
- Strong technical knowledge of clinical negligence and CPR
- Excellent communication and client handling skills
- Rigorous analytical ability and attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to prioritise, multi task and work to strict deadlines
- A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
