Solicitor/Legal Executive – Head of Family Department – Swindon – 5+ Years PQE

Salary: £55,000 to £85,000
A respected regional law firm is seeking a skilled and ambitious Family Solicitor or Legal Executive with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience to lead and grow its Family Law team in Swindon. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a department with a loyal client base and strong local reputation, while bringing fresh ideas and energy to drive business development.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing and developing the Family Law team, with duties including:
- Leading a caseload of privately funded divorce, financial remedy, and private children matters
- Supervising and mentoring team members
- Collaborating with Partners on strategy and growth
- Supporting training and development within the department
- Driving business development and marketing initiatives
- Ensuring high standards of client care and legal service
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor or legal executive with:
- 5+ years PQE in private family law
- Strong experience in complex family matters and advocacy
- Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Leadership skills and a desire to grow a team from the ground up
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Motivation, initiative, and a commercial mindset
