Supervising Associate – Derivatives – Bristol – 4+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (with hybrid flexibility)
Salary: £90,000+ (depending on experience)

A leading international law firm is seeking a Supervising Associate with 4+ years’ post-qualification experience to join its specialist Derivatives & Trading team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value matters for buy-side clients across global financial markets, within a collaborative and high-performing environment.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a wide range of derivatives and trading work, including:

  • Drafting and negotiating ISDAs, prime brokerage agreements, GMRAs, GMSLAs and ETD agreements
  • Advising on prime brokerage arrangements (cash and synthetic), FXPB, CASS/client money protections, and AIFMD compliance
  • Supporting clients with repo and securities lending documentation, including tri party structures, and global custody agreements
  • Providing clear, commercially focused advice on regulatory developments such as EMIR and MiFID II
  • Collaborating with partners, colleagues, and clients to deliver integrated solutions
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to business development initiatives


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 4+ years PQE in derivatives and trading transactions
  • Experience advising buy-side clients on complex trading arrangements
  • Strong technical expertise and drafting skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Confidence managing multiple transactions and engaging directly with institutional clients
  • Strong academic background and commercial awareness
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse and inclusive team
