Solicitor – Clinical Negligence (Birth Injury) – Bristol – 4+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (hybrid working available)
Salary: £60,000–£80,000 (depending on experience)

A well established Top 100 law firm is seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Associate (4+ PQE) to join its specialist Clinical Negligence team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high value birth injury cases within a collaborative, supportive and forward thinking environment.

The Role
You will work closely with Partners and manage a varied caseload of complex clinical negligence matters, including:

  • Assisting Partners on high value birth injury litigation
  • Managing your own caseload of clinical negligence claims
  • Building strong, credible and empathetic client relationships
  • Advising clients on risks, outcomes, options and timescales
  • Scoping fees and managing WIP, time recording and billing
  • Supporting the development of a strong risk aware culture
  • Growing internal and external networks
  • Coaching and mentoring junior lawyers within the team
  • Working towards personal and team KPIs aligned with departmental strategy


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • Minimum 4 years’ PQE in clinical negligence
  • Experience handling high value and complex birth injury cases
  • Previous experience assisting Partners on complex matters
  • Strong technical ability and excellent client care skills
  • Confidence managing sensitive and challenging cases
  • Ability to mentor and support junior colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset
