Solicitor – Planning – Bristol – 2+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £55,000 to £70,000, dependent on experience
A respected law firm is seeking a Planning Associate with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience to join its nationally recognised Planning team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most significant development and infrastructure projects, within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of planning matters, including:
- Strategic residential and infrastructure development
- Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and Transport & Works Act Orders
- Planning obligations and community infrastructure levy
- Lawful development certificates and highways advice
- Supporting property teams on acquisitions and disposals
- Advising on contentious matters such as enforcement, compulsory purchase, judicial reviews, and appeals
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and stakeholders across multiple sectors
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:
- 2+ years PQE in planning law
- Experience in residential development and/or energy-related projects
- Strong technical and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence in managing matters independently
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
- Genuine interest in policy developments and sustainability
- Willingness to attend sector events and grow professional networks
