A respected law firm is seeking an Associate (Qualified Lawyer) with 0–4 years’ post-qualification experience to join its highly regarded Professional & Financial Risks team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a top-ranked practice, working with major insurers and professional services firms on complex, high-value matters.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of professional indemnity claims, including:

  • Defending liability claims pre- and post-litigation
  • Advising on regulatory issues, risk management, and Ombudsman complaints
  • Handling policy coverage issues for insurers
  • Delivering high-quality, timely client service aligned with SLAs
  • Contributing to team development, process improvements, and business initiatives
  • Capturing and collating management information for clients
  • Supporting a collaborative and client-focused team culture


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 0–4 years PQE (litigation background essential; insurance experience desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of legal procedures and litigation processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to deliver commercial solutions and build strong client relationships
  • Confidence in managing matters independently and efficiently
  • High attention to detail, organisation, and adaptability
  • Commitment to financial hygiene and commercial awareness
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and a collaborative mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
