Solicitor – Contentious Construction – Bristol – 4+ Years PQE
Location: Bristol (with hybrid flexibility)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £55,000 to £80,000 + Bonus

A leading UK law firm is seeking a Contentious Construction Solicitor with 4+ years’ post-qualification experience to join its growing Construction team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile disputes and complex construction matters within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of contentious construction matters, including:

  • Contract breaches, professional negligence claims, and delay disputes
  • Drafting and negotiating JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and bespoke construction contracts
  • Advising on procurement strategies, risk management, and regulatory compliance
  • Acting in adjudications, arbitrations, mediations, and TCC litigation
  • Collaborating with colleagues across real estate, banking, corporate, and dispute resolution teams
  • Conducting legal research and managing case documentation
  • Supporting business development and client relationship initiatives
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to internal training


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • 4+ years PQE in construction law (UK-based)
  • Strong experience in contentious construction matters
  • Solid understanding of JCT, NEC, FIDIC contracts and related documentation
  • Exposure to adjudication, arbitration, mediation, and TCC litigation
  • Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to legal advice
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with mentoring experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
