Associate / Senior Associate – Dispute Resolution – Exeter – 4+ Years PQE
Location: Exeter
Type of Role: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £65,000 to £80,000 (depending on experience)
A highly regarded and expanding Dispute Resolution team is seeking an ambitious Associate or Senior Associate (4+ years PQE) to join its successful Exeter office. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a Legal 500 and Chambers ranked team, handling high quality and complex commercial disputes for a diverse national and international client base.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing and assisting with a broad range of commercial dispute matters, including:
- Contractual and shareholder disputes
- Financial and professional negligence claims
- Judicial review
- Business risk and regulatory matters
- Working with specialist sub teams (sports, energy & waste, marine, business risk & regulation, insolvency)
- Acting for start ups, SMEs, multi nationals, institutional investors, banks and public sector bodies
- Running your own caseload with a high degree of autonomy
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development
You will join a well established team with an excellent reputation, gaining exposure to high value, complex work from day one.
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a senior lawyer with:
- 4+ years PQE in dispute resolution
- Broad experience across commercial disputes or a developed sector specialism
- Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire client confidence
- Resilience and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
- Strong commercial judgement and a proactive, solutions focused approach
- Motivation to develop a specialism and build a client following over time
- Confidence handling a high level of responsibility and autonomy
- A client following is advantageous but not essential.
