Associate – Commercial Litigation – 2+ Years PQE
Location: Cardiff
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 (depending on experience)

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Commercial Litigation Associate (2+ PQE) to join a busy and growing team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive environment, handling a broad range of contentious matters for both public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload of commercial and civil disputes, including contractual claims, judicial reviews, intellectual property disputes, partnership disputes, shareholder disputes and professional negligence matters
  • Advise on procurement challenges, including evaluation criteria, scoring methodologies and limitation issues (experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Provide clear, strategic and commercially focused advice to a wide range of clients
  • Support the wider Commercial Litigation Group as required
  • Contribute to practice development through writing articles, attending networking events and building your market profile
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and maintain high standards of client care
  • Participate in hybrid working arrangements, typically attending the office 2–3 days per week depending on business need


About You:

  • Admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales with 2+ years’ PQE (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong technical expertise and intellectual ability within commercial litigation
  • Experience advising on commercial disputes, including corporate disputes, is highly desirable
  • Experience working on procurement challenges is advantageous but not essential
  • Confident acting for a broad range of public and private sector clients
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to provide clear, practical solutions
  • Strong communication skills and a relationship driven, approachable manner
  • Highly organised, self motivated and able to take responsibility for your own matters
  • A collaborative team player committed to maintaining up to date legal knowledge
