Solicitor / Legal Executive – Clinical Negligence – Gloucester / Hybrid / Fully Remote – 1–2 Years PQE
Location: Gloucester (Hybrid or Fully Remote options available)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 (depending on experience)

A well established and reputable law firm is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor or Legal Executive with 1–2 years’ post qualification experience to join its expanding Clinical Negligence team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise within a supportive, collaborative environment that values high quality work and strong client care.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of Clinical Negligence matters from initial instruction through to settlement, including:

  • Conducting initial consultations and triaging new enquiries
  • Advising and supporting clients throughout their claims
  • Managing pre action and litigated cases under the CPR
  • Drafting Letters of Claim, analysing Letters of Response, preparing witness statements, and drafting court documents
  • Reviewing and preparing chronologies of medical records and expert evidence
  • Instructing and liaising with medical experts and counsel
  • Advising on funding arrangements including CFAs, ATE policies, and client care documentation
  • Negotiating with defendants and insurers to secure the best outcomes
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering a high standard of service


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor or legal executive with:

  • 1–2 years PQE in Clinical Negligence
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and case management skills
  • Excellent communication and client handling abilities
  • Confidence in managing files independently with appropriate supervision
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive mindset
  • Competence in legal IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to its ongoing development
