Solicitor / Associate – Commercial Contracts & Intellectual Property – Cardiff – 2+ Years PQE
Location: Cardiff (Hybrid)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £45,000 to £65,000 (depending on experience)
A well-regarded commercial law firm is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Solicitor or Associate to join its growing Commercial team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse client base across sectors, advising on commercial agreements, intellectual property, and data protection matters, while shaping your career in a supportive and ambitious environment.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements (NDAs, supply contracts, T&Cs, collaboration and development agreements)
- Advising on IP ownership, protection, and licensing
- Providing guidance on data protection compliance
- Managing your own caseload with support from senior colleagues
- Supporting business development and marketing initiatives
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:
- Minimum 2 years PQE in commercial contracts and IP law
- A 2:1 degree or above
- Strong knowledge of data protection legislation
- Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness and confidence in client-facing work
- Entrepreneurial mindset with enthusiasm for networking and growth
- A collaborative and dynamic approach to teamwork
More experienced candidates will be considered for an Associate-level position.
