CNC Machine Operative – Temp to Perm Opportunity

Location: Sheffield

Days Pay Rate: £14.04 per hour

Nights Pay Rate: £18.25 per hour

Shifts:

• Days: Monday to Thursday, 07:00 – 17:00
• Nights: Monday to Thursday, 21:00 – 07:00

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machine Operative to join a busy and well-established machine shop in Sheffield. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering long-term stability and progression.

You will be working on the machining of centrifugally spun castings for specialist sectors such as aerospace and power generation, using a variety of stainless steel alloys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating CNC machines to produce components to precise tolerances
• Experience in CNC programming, milling, and turning is essential
• Interpreting and working from engineering drawings
• Performing visual inspections of finished parts to ensure quality standards
• Supporting the wider production team as needed
• Following health & safety procedures and maintaining a clean work area

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience as a CNC machine operative, including programming, milling, and turning
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• High attention to detail with a focus on quality
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible with working hours, including nights and overtime
• Good understanding of health & safety and quality procedures
• Strong communication skills
