Our client is a leading industrial assembly & manufacturing company, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for a charismatic, driven and hands-on man-manager to lead their production and assembly team.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the general manager, working closely with another production manager
  • Managing a team of 35 production operatives in manufacturing, assembly & product spraying environment
  • Responsible for looking at improving product margins and workflow efficiencies
  • Stocktaking, reporting, managing output figures, KPi’s
  • Hands-on manager, leading the workforce from the front, on the production shopfloor
  • Coaching and motivating staff to help achieve company KPi’s and site goals
  • Maximise productivity – reviewing operating hours and monitoring efficiencies to make improvements
  • Provide staff with training/coaching on lean manufacturing & continuous improvement culture
  • Develop new production processes to improve productivity and site workflow
  • Work closely with HR on staff training, reviews, appraisals, disciplinaries

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Must be a strong hands-on man-manager, charismatic leader, who leads from the front
  • Ideally have at least 5 years experience in a similar production management role
  • Must have worked in an industrial manufacturing industry / busy assembly engineering workshop
  • Good sense of humour, with an open door policy to team
  • An approachable manager, able to support staff with plans, training & assist development
  • Working knowledge of production processes and implementing into production workflow
  • Flexible with working hours
  • Reporting & stocktaking skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing & continuous improvement culture
  • Have experience with health & safety in a manufacturing workplace
  • Previously have been part of a busy senior leadership team
