Hampton’s are currently working with a small residential company who need a Deputy Manager for a BRAND NEW CHILDREN’S HOME in East Manchester. This home will be a 2-bed home for children and young people with EBD.

This is for a company who specialise in providing the best possible care for children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Their aim to give young people the support and the tools they need to make a positive impact on their own destiny and those around them – and therefore achieve their goals later in life.

 

Salary: circa £27k (dependent on experience) + sleep-ins

 

Profile:

The Deputy Home Manager will provide a combination of support to the young people in the home and leadership to the team of which they are in charge, and deputise in the Registered Manager’s absence.

 

Responsibilities in brief:

  • Taking a lead in providing excellent standards of individualised care
  • Meeting the emotional, physical and developmental needs of the children and young people
  • Promoting positive experiences and progress for children and young people
  • Protecting the welfare of children and young people
  • Enabling the children and young people to build resilience
  • Promoting life skills with the children and young people
  • Providing leadership, guidance, motivation, creativity and management to other staff
  • Facilitating reflective supervision for team members
  • Providing staff training as required
  • Working to a shift pattern including weekends and sleeping in duties

 

Requirements:

  • NVQ in Residential Care or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 5 in Management (or willingness to undertake)
  • Experience with Ofsted
  • Driving Licence
  • Strong childcare knowledge and understanding of EBD
  • Up to date knowledge of legislation and safeguarding
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
