FSO Engineering Coordinator
Accountabilities
- Ensure that the assigned projects tasks are well managed as per the statement of requirement, company specifications and contractual requirements,
- Ensure that all the interfaces with the design team, other entities including P&D/E&C are correctly managed,
- Ensure that the projects are executed in accordance with the organization’s safety regulations, with quality conformance and within schedule and budget,
- Coordinate the engineering activities of FSO engineering group in agreement with Engineering Manager and FSO Package Lead all along the Contracts execution phase,
- Responsible for engineering consistency between Project packages,
- Ensure efficient communication with all other companies engineering and functional team members.
Dedicated to the engineering execution of two FSO (i.e. conversion of two tankers), the Engineering Coordinator will be based in the Major Projects premises during the initial stages of the project (FEED executions) with potential missions to FEED contractors offices. Candidate will move to selected engineering CTR premises during detailed studies development for the full duration of the project execution. The job holder belongs to the engineering team and reports to the Engineering Manager Major Projects and to the FSO package leader.
ACTIVITIES
- Promote & comply with applicable safety instruction and other Company HSE procedures in all activities,
- Carry out work in compliance with Company values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed Company priorities and objectives, Company standards and procedures and good industry practices,
- Treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality,
- Coordinate the Company dedicated FSO engineering team, conduct daily briefing meeting, act as Company engineering focal point, report regularly to MP management, propose corrective actions as necessary in due course,
- Coordinate development of scope of work and RFQ for FSO project with dedicated engineering team and project management,
- Ensure consistency between disciplines in various detailed engineering documentation,
- Collate and expedite technical query and derogation responses from engineering team and submit to management for approval. Expedite the discipline leaders to reply to the technical queries/ derogations in due time,
- Follow-up the issued derogations from Project level to CMS group by engineering team members,
- Follow-up the progress of the engineering works performed by the Contractor, the timely issue of the engineering documents, drawings lists and document index according to the approved MDR schedule,
- Provide engineering and vendor documentation distribution matrix inputs to DCC group and update as necessary along the project execution,
- Ensure effective and timely comments and/or approve via EDMS (PRODOM) of the engineering documents by the project specialists,
- Check incorporation of Company comments by the Contractor and vendors into the resubmitted documentation,
- To organise, control and check the inter-discipline co-ordination within project teams,
- To coordinate meetings with the Contractor: weekly and monthly meetings, variation order meetings and ad hoc meetings,
- To collect data prepared by the specialists for the internal weekly and monthly reports, and to prepare the corresponding synthesis to dispatch to MP/Project management,
- To report any anticipated deviations to the initial plan and propose mitigation actions to management,
- To develop within area of responsibility: Project procedures and execution plans,
- To anticipate Potential Change Order and propose to management optimized way forward,
- To perform the Technical Assessment of Change Order Request issued by the Contractor,
- To organize the Final Documentation delivery from the outset of the Contract execution,
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Qualification: Master’s degree in marine engineering or certificate of Marine Chief Engineer,
- Experience: at least 10 years in Ship design and Ship building industries (engineering companies, shipyard, Classification Societies) with a good level of technical understanding of all relevant technical disciplines
- Experience of engineering team supervision/management on onshore/offshore oil & gas project, knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
