Our client, a well renowned global optical company is responsible for some of the world’s most recognisable brands and is seeking a Marketing professional to join their dynamic and passionate Global Marketing team in their global head-office in Japan.
About the opportunity
This is a fantastic and unique opportunity for a driven marketer with optical lens experience to take a lead in product design, strategy and implementation of global plans as a Product Marketing Manager.
Reporting to the Marketing General Manager you will be an integral team member working collaboratively across functions and geographies, requiring excellent communication skills. You have a proven ability to translate the voices of trade and consumers into solutions and go-to-market plans, and an affinity for technical/medical products. You can think strategically and creatively while keeping a high attention to details.
Responsibilities
- Propose and develop new product and marketing concepts for the designated consumer category to drive business acceleration
- Create full marketing packages for new product launches, from initial conceptualisation to execution, ensuring smooth and timely global roll-out
- Collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external agencies to create consumer-centric and engaging content and assets for both B2B and B2C communication
- Work with R&D, NPI and local marketing teams to drive new product setup and launches to ensure smooth go-to-market
Skills and Experience required to be successful in the role:
- Bachelors or higher in marketing
- 3-5 years’ experience in product marketing, or related position
- Experience in the ophthalmic lens industry a requirement
- Strategic thinking and ability to manage multiple projects on a worldwide scale
- Affinity with technical products and the ability to translate technical information into consumer-friendly content
- Strong organisational, project management and time management skills
- Effective communication skills with multiple stakeholders
- Good written and oral communication skills in English to liaise with overseas counterparts
- Japanese language proficiency is a plus to communicate effectively with local teams
- Experience working with creative agencies is a preferred
- MS Office proficiency
