SWIFT Systems Engineer (BBBH12649) Sydney, Australia

Salary: AUD750 - AUD750 per day

What will this job do to improve your life?
This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, business-critical payment systems in a highly technical engineering environment. You’ll gain exposure to complex SWIFT infrastructure and backend engineering work while securing a long-term contract in a market where genuinely hands-on SWIFT expertise is hard to find.

The Low Down

  • 9-month contract
  • $750 + GST per day
  • Sydney CBD / Hybrid working model (50% office / 50% WFH)

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Join a major banking SWIFT migration project delivering critical payment system upgrades
  • Lead backend installation, configuration and migration of SWIFT applications
  • Work across Red Hat Linux and Windows environments within a complex enterprise setting
  • Partner with architects and technical teams through design, implementation and cutover
  • Play a key role in a large-scale data centre and payments transformation project

  What Success Looks Like:

  • Min 5 years, current hands-on SWIFT experience across PAG, DMC, HSM, SAG, AWP/SAA and wider SWIFT infrastructure
  • Backend engineering capability across installation, configuration, migration, patching and upgrade activities
  • Strong Red Hat Linux, with applications running across RHEL VMs and some Windows environments
  • Strong understanding of payment systems, settlement processing and NPP/FSS environments
  • Technical and hands-on from a backend perspective, rather than candidates who have predominantly supported GUI/front-end environments.

Benefits:

  • Hybrid flexibility
  • Long-term contract opportunity
    Exposure to enterprise-scale payment environments

Company & Culture:
You’ll be joining a highly regarded enterprise environment working on critical financial systems and infrastructure projects. The team is collaborative, technically strong and values engineers who enjoy being genuinely hands-on and solving complex backend challenges.
