Linux Engineer Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Linux Engineer for an opportunity in Dallas, TX. The Linux Engineer will work with customers and technical staff to resolve Data center migration problems. We are unable to sponsor or transfer visas at this time for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in assigned Data center migration activities
• Work with other internal resources on implementation or migration related activities. As needed, escalate complex problems to SMEs
• Coordinate resolution of client UAT issues
• Maintain professionalism with various levels of client personnel. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrate strong analytical skills. Maintain and develop thorough product knowledge
• Assist leader and other technical resources in defining, maintaining, and documenting standards and procedures associated with the data center migration
• Interface with technical and in-house customer service personnel to determine exact nature of problems and implement remedial procedures for customers

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated subject matter expertise on company products and services preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• A minimum of 4 years software implementation or systems engineering related experience
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Proven strong analytical problem solving ability and communication skills required
• Experience with Web and Client server application support and general operating system
• Database systems experience with database systems such as SQL 2008/2012/2014
• Experience with web based technology like Java/J2EE, web servers like IIS/Apache and any java based application servers like Weblogic/JBoss/Websphere
• Ability to review detailed system log files to quickly identify problems
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability with strong detail orientation
• Takes initiative to learn from team as well as independently through other resources
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task
• Ability to travel up to 10% (travel is not the norm but may be required occasionally)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of specialized or technical terminology related to Cash & Logistics products would be a plus
• Experienced with Autosys and File transfer tools (SFTP, WINSCP)
