Salary: USD23 - USD28 per hour

Remedy is thrilled to be working with a Patterson, New Jersey manufacturing company with an urgent need for a Quality Control Lab Technician!

The Lab Technician will be responsible for conducting routine testing on raw materials and finished goods, ensuring that products meet quality standards. Key tests include pH measurements, particle size analysis by sieving, moisture determination using moisture balance, and titrations via auto titrator. This role also involves working closely with the Quality Assurance, manufacturing and sanitation teams to test post-cleaning equipment and ensure it is properly released for use. In addition, the Lab Technician will assist with administrative lab tasks, packaging and shipping samples, and organizing documentation and lab resources.

  • Perform routine tests, including pH testing, particle size analysis (sieving), moisture testing (balances), and titrations using automatic titrators.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures and protocols.
  • Analyze quality metrics and trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct audits of testing processes and lab practices to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform inspections on the plant floor to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including hygiene and equipment cleanliness.
  • Monitor food safety protocols, including HACCP procedures, to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Test and approve equipment after cleaning for safe production and conduct post-cleaning inspections for equipment release.
  • Organize and maintain projects, sample inventories, and documentation to support the Quality Control team.
  • Package and ship samples for external testing via FedEx or UPS as needed.
  • Perform daily manufacturing equipment and safety inspections and facilitate sample pick-up for testing.
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing activities and results in compliance with company protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with the Quality, Manufacturing, and Sanitation teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards.

We’re looking for a Quality Control Lab Technician with the following background profile/skillset:

Education/Certification/Licensing:

  • High School Diploma (Degree in science related field preferred)

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum two to five years' lab experience, food science or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with lab equipment such as pH meters, sieves, balances, and titrators.
  • Prior experience with OSHA, EHS, GMP, and SQF/FSSC 22000
  • Proficient MS Suite (i.e., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) & ERP/MRP experience (SAP, SAGE)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Quality driven. We aim to do everything the right way the FIRST time.
  • Must be self-motivated and work successfully as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to receiving feedback and be able to react to the feedback in a positive manner.
