Job Title: Research and Development Scientist (Direct Hire)
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent / Direct Hire
Location: Patterson, New Jersey
Pay: $80-120,000 / annually DOE

- Conduct research and experiments to develop new food ingredients, additives, and flavors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality assurance, and production, to create and optimize formulations.
- Utilize your expertise in fermentation processes to enhance product attributes.
- Implement preservation techniques to extend shelf life and maintain product quality.
- Investigate and apply mold inhibitors to prevent spoilage and contamination.
- Analyze raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using various laboratory techniques.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Document research findings, experimental procedures, and results accurately.
- Participate in sensory evaluations and consumer testing.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and scientific advancements.
We’re looking for a R&D Scientist with the following background profile/skillset:

- Ingredients and Flavors industry experience is essential.
- Proficiency in fermentation processes.
- Knowledge of preservation methods.
- Familiarity with mold inhibitors and their applications.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Local candidates preferred (position not eligible for relocation).
Education/Certification/Licensing:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in R&D within the food industry.
