Car Compound Driver

Location: Portbury Dock (BS20)

Pay: £12.71 per hour (weekly pay)

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Start Date: Immediate

Gi Group is recruiting Car Compound Drivers for a leading automotive logistics company based at Portbury Dock, near Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have strong driving skills, and want to build a long‑term career in the vehicle logistics and automotive sector.

You’ll be responsible for the safe movement of vehicles across a large compound, supporting a busy and fast‑paced operation.

Key Responsibilities – Car Compound Driver

• Vehicle movement — Safely drive, manoeuvre and relocate vehicles around the compound and wider port site.
• Vehicle checks — Complete basic pre‑ and post‑movement inspections to ensure vehicles meet site standards.
• Accurate parking — Park vehicles precisely following compound maps, bay numbers and site procedures.
• Team collaboration — Work efficiently with colleagues in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment.
• Safety standards — Maintain high levels of safety, professionalism and compliance at all times.

Requirements

• Full UK manual driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 points.
• Confident driving manual, automatic and electric vehicles.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent safety awareness.
• Previous experience in vehicle handling, yard driving or automotive logistics is desirable but not essential.
