As part of our clients substantial growth, they are now looking to recruit an a CDM Engineer who will be part of their Technical Design Excellence team, and will primarily be responsible for
·Developing systems tools and process to ensure the responsibilities of Designer and Principal Designer are delivered by the in-house Design teams
·Undertaking compliance assurance checks at key stages of design development, to confirm that CDM compliance is met and are integrated successfully into their design programme.
·Providing guidance on CDM and associated issues to the Design team members
This opportunity is available at either Derby (East Midlands) & Coventry (West Midlands).
As their CDM Engineer, you will provide support, guidance and upskilling across their design teams to ensure they adopt a standardised approach to CDM in all the design that they do. You will issue guidance on undertaking Design Safety Reviews and will be an expert point of contact for any queries, advice and support. You will also be required to undertake a review and audit at key stages within the programme to confirm that the Designer and Principal Designer activities have suitably considered and addressed health and safety responsibilities in compliance with CDM requirements. You will be expected to issue regular reports on the findings of these reviews
Key Accountabilities of a CDM Engineer
In this role you will be responsible for:
·Holding regular reviews with duty holders, to ensure that they are complying with Regulatory requirements and are discharging their responsibilities, in compliance with CDM
·Supporting the Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor Representative in production of CDM plans, and ensuring that CDM plans (including a RACI matrix) are prepared, approved, maintained and updated
·Auditing and assuring that project documentation relating to CDM, Design Safety reviews, Health, Safety and Wellbeing is in place and also maintained focusing on the role of Designer and Principal Designer
·Assuring that design maintain a clear process for identifying and managing risks, as well as ensuring that they are clearly communicated
·Preparing an audit schedule in co-ordination with the PMO and Delivery teams
·Preparing an Designer CDM Assurance Report each period detailing progress, compliance, critical issues, concerns and recommendations, to be reviewed by the design leadership team
·Undertaking assurance audits in accordance with an agreed schedule, and to provide audit report for review with the relevant teams, including identification of any non-conformances, observations for improvement and opportunities share good practice amongst teams
Experience
To be successful in securing the role of Enabling Works Team Leader, my client expect that you have the following experience:
·Experience of working within a technical or design environment
·Extensive experience of implementing and managing CDM Regulations
·Experience in a CDM Manager or CDM co-ordinator role or similar, on major programmes work
Qualifications
·A suitable education (preferably degree level) in an engineering, construction, project management or environmental discipline
·NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
·You must hold a Full UK driving licence

·NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
·OHSAS 18001 Internal Auditor
·IMPAS (CDM-C or APS Management or Pre-Construction Health and Safety)
