Are you a motivated and reliable individual looking for a career in the electrical industry MEGT has a fantastic opportunity with one of our clients for an apprentice in the Newcastle area.
About the role:
This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills and gain hands on experience in
- Assist with the installation and construction of overhead and underground power line infrastructure for new housing developments and utility networks.
- Work alongside qualified tradespeople to complete cabling, pillar box installations, and electrical terminations.
- Support civil and electrical tasks including trenching, conduit installation, and preparing sites for power distribution systems.
- Participate in physically demanding, hands-on work across construction sites while learning specialised power line and infrastructure skills.
- Gain exposure to a range of industry skills including electrical testing, infrastructure installation, and working safely within large-scale power projects.
What we’re looking for - Skills & Experience
- Currently completing or partially through an Electrical Apprenticeship (ideally late first year or second year).
- Previous exposure to domestic, commercial, or civil electrical work with a basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Physically fit and willing to undertake hands-on, labour-intensive work on construction sites.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and reliable transport to travel to the depot or job sites.
- Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn within a team environment.
