Mechanical Fitter Apprenticeship – Castle Hill

MEGT is partnering with a global leader in industrial automation and precision engineering to offer a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Apprentice Mechanical Fitter based in Castle Hill, NSW.

About the Role

As an apprentice Mechanical Fitter, you’ll gain practical, real-world experience working on precision mechanical systems and industrial equipment. You’ll be supported every step of the way while developing the skills to become a qualified tradesperson.

You will be involved in:

  • Assisting with installation, assembly, alignment, and dismantling of mechanical equipment
  • Supporting preventative and breakdown maintenance on machinery including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
  • Learning to diagnose mechanical faults and assist with repairs under supervision
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment safely and correctly
  • Assisting with bearing replacements, seals, lubrication, and general mechanical overhauls
  • Supporting basic welding and spray painting tasks in workshop and maintenance environments
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documentation

About You

We’re looking for someone who is genuinely interested in mechanical work and ready to build a career in the trade.

You will bring:

  • Strong work ethic and a genuine willingness to learn
  • A positive, reliable attitude and ability to work well in a team
  • Any hands-on experience (mechanical hobbies, school workshop, labouring or similar) highly regarded
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to working safely
  • Physically capable of working in a hands-on workshop/manufacturing environment
  • Basic numeracy and problem-solving skills
