Salary: GBP19.45 - GBP19.45 per hour + 3 month temporary role with weekly pay!

We are recruiting for a Temporary HR Officer to join a well-established organisation within the education sector and provide support across a busy and varied HR function. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Officer to join a great and supportive team during a period of change, helping with a broad range of operational HR activity and employee support.


What will you be doing as a Temporary HR Officer?

  • Supporting the HR team with day-to-day HR administration
  • Managing and recording staff absence, including return-to-work processes and absence meetings
  • Supporting the onboarding of new starters, including contracts, personnel files, DBS checks and inductions
  • Monitoring probationary periods and ensuring relevant paperwork is completed
  • Supporting the recruitment process, including adverts, applications, interviews, references and pre-employment checks
  • Dealing with staff queries via email, telephone and face-to-face
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Supporting payroll administration and providing relevant employee information
  • Processing leavers and associated documentation
  • Supporting family leave administration
  • Assisting with employee relations matters and providing support to the HR Manager
  • Preparing HR reports, statistics and documentation
  • Handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Supporting HR projects and process improvements as required


We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience within a HR Officer, HR Advisor, HR Administrator, People Advisor, People Coordinator or similar HR role
  • Strong practical experience across operational HR administration
  • Experience with onboarding, recruitment, absence management and employee welfare
  • Confident dealing with sensitive and confidential employee matters
  • A warm, approachable and diplomatic manner with excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to use your own initiative and work confidently within a busy HR team
  • Good knowledge of HR processes and employment legislation
  • Experience working with HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR experience
  • Previous experience within an education environment would be beneficial
  • Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check is essential


What will you get in return for your work as a Temporary HR Officer?

  • £19.45 per hour
  • Weekly pay
  • 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday
  • Ideally 8:30am-4:00pm, with some flexibility to start later and finish later
  • 3-month temporary assignment with potential to be extended beyond this period
