Mold Engineer - Remote (PR/001536) USA

POSITION SNAPSHOT:

This role is responsible for leading the engineering and technical execution of injection molding tooling programs from initial concept through production launch. Acting as the primary technical lead, the individual oversees mold design, tool build activities, engineering changes, repairs, and tooling transfers while ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with customer requirements. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including design engineering, molding operations, process engineering, quality, tooling, scheduling, and external suppliers. Key responsibilities include facilitating design reviews, establishing project timelines, monitoring tooling costs and performance metrics, coordinating mold sampling and first article inspections, and ensuring all validation and customer approval requirements are successfully completed. The role also serves as the primary customer-facing engineering contact, providing technical guidance, project updates, and support throughout the tooling lifecycle.

 

The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, along with approximately one to three years of experience in injection mold design, tooling, plastics manufacturing, or a similar engineering environment. Strong technical capabilities in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, are required, as well as a solid understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, mold qualification processes, and statistical analysis methods used to evaluate manufacturing performance. Success in this position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. The individual should be comfortable supporting both office-based engineering activities and shop-floor manufacturing operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, resolving tooling and production challenges, and ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

ITAR regulated facility.  Role may be remote for candidates in the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Upper Midwest Regions with initial heavy travel expectations to upstate NY region.    

 

Projected Salary Range is $100K - $150K Base Salary depending on experience.
