POSITION SNAPSHOT: Our client in contract manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Principal Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of complex, CAD‑intensive DFAM projects and serve as a technical cornerstone within a growing engineering organization. This role will directly absorb high‑complexity work. The ideal candidate is exceptionally fluent in CAD—NX preferred but proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar is acceptable for a sharp engineer able to adapt quickly. Beyond CAD mastery, the role requires deep DFAM experience (ideally 8–10 years, though fewer may be acceptable for a standout candidate), strong customer‑facing technical communication, and the ability to manage sophisticated build setups, downstream machining interfaces, and advanced geometry challenges with autonomy. Experience in aerospace, space, or defense is valuable due to their rigorous quality standards, but candidates with strong AM backgrounds from any high‑performance industry will be considered.
This engineer will serve as the technical front end to customers—owning complex designs, leading manufacturability discussions, and ensuring successful execution across the full additive manufacturing lifecycle. Responsibilities include developing advanced CAD models, planning AM builds, supporting simulation and compensation workflows (training available), and collaborating closely with machining teams to ensure end‑to‑end process alignment. The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact immediately, contribute to developing engineering standards and templates, and operate as a senior technical authority within a lean, fast‑moving team that works across a variety of aerospace, defense, and industrial applications.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance for this employer. Also, relocation assistance may be a consideration. $190K - $210K Base Salary DOE.
