POSITION SNAPSHOT: Our client, a contract manufacturer, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead commercial growth initiatives across the Commercial Space, Aerospace & Defense, Medical, and High-End Industrial markets. This senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that increase revenue, expand market share, strengthen customer relationships, and support long-term business objectives. The Director of Sales will oversee a team of Sales Account Managers, establish revenue targets, manage forecasting and pipeline performance, identify new business opportunities, and serve as a key contributor in aligning commercial strategy with operational and manufacturing capabilities.  THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES SOUTH OF SAN DIEGO, CA.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of leading and scaling high-performing sales or account management teams within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, additive manufacturing, or related industries. Key responsibilities include growing strategic customer accounts, driving account expansion through relationship-based selling, building executive-level customer partnerships, supporting complex contract negotiations, and collaborating closely with Program Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure successful program execution and exceptional customer satisfaction. The role requires a hands-on leader who can influence both customers and internal stakeholders while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

 

Qualified candidates should have at least seven years of experience in sales, account management, or business development and a minimum of five years leading sales or account management professionals. A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, pricing strategy, margin management, contract negotiations, and customer growth strategies is essential. Experience within additive manufacturing is highly preferred, along with familiarity with AS9100 quality systems, ITAR compliance requirements, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office. A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must qualify as a U.S. person under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
