Senior Manufacturing Operator

Location: Warrington, WA1

Contract: 6 months

Shift times: Monday – Friday rotational shift

Pay rate: £14.01 per hour + 20% shift allowance

 

As a Senior Manufacturing Operator, you’ll play a key role within the manufacturing team—leading by example on the production floor and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You’ll support and develop colleagues day-to-day, working closely with the Team Leader to meet production plans while promoting a positive, high-performing culture.

 

Senior Manufacturing Operator Shifts & Pay:

  • Shift pattern: Monday – Friday
  • Hours: 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00 (weekly alternating)
  • Pay: £14.01 per hour + 20% shift allowance (£16.80 per hour)

 

Important note: This shift pattern applies until 31/12/2026. After that, the role will move to standard day shift 08:00–16:00 and the shift allowance will no longer apply.

 

Senior Manufacturing Operator Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out manufacturing activities safely, efficiently and in line with company procedures and quality standards.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork and accountability at all times.
  • Support the Team Leader with the day-to-day running of the production area to deliver production plans safely and on schedule.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and support to operators, sharing best practice across the team.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new team members, helping build skills and confidence.
  • Monitor production activity, identify potential issues and take action to resolve or escalate appropriately.
  • Ensure production records and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Promote continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency and team performance.
  • Support investigations into production/quality issues, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards; keep equipment and work areas clean, organised and fit for purpose.
  • Encourage open communication and a collaborative team culture focused on high standards.

 

Senior Manufacturing Operator Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety, quality and good manufacturing practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor or support colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Flexible, reliable and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare or food production).
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of production performance measures and process improvement techniques.
