The Head of Legal & Compliance will be responsible for ensuring that all institutional and client onboarding processes meet local and international regulatory standards. This role involves managing legal and compliance procedures, designing contract and documentation frameworks, monitoring AML/KYB processes, and preparing high-risk reports and official compliance documentation and also oversee compliance for fiat-to-crypto and crypto-related business activities, ensuring supported services and currencies adhere to jurisdictional requirements.

Responsibilities: 

  • Design strategies, frameworks, and operating manuals for compliant and sustainable digital asset exchange operations
  • Set internal policies for legal, compliance, AML, finance, market risk, governance, HR, and risk management.
  • Oversee product management, customer dispute resolution, remediation, and compliance reporting.
  • Advise senior leadership and the Board of Directors on compliance issues and regulatory risks.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant laws and adjust company activities accordingly.
  • Propose compliance-driven strategies for business growth.
  • Ensure all business activities, including fiat-to-crypto and crypto transactions, comply with regulation.
  • Lead product compliance, dispute resolution, and enforcement response (including forensics and fraud).
  • Configure compliance and risk-monitoring systems (e.g., AML/CFT, KYC/KYB, market surveillance).
  • Draft contracts, operational terms, market and insurance fund documentation.
  • Oversee licensing, regulatory applications, and legal costs.
  • Design and manage client onboarding and compliance SOPs.
  • Conduct due diligence on clients and partners and generate required compliance reports.
  • Train employees and provide guidance on compliance risks and evolving regulations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure business alignment with compliance requirements.


Qualifications & Skills: 

  • US, UK, Australia, Singapore, HK Qualified or common law Qualified with in-house Legal & Compliance experience
  • 2–5 years of compliance experience in financial institutions, crypto exchanges, or regulated fintech companies.
  • Solid knowledge of compliance frameworks in at least one major jurisdiction (EU, SEA, GCC, East Asia, Turkey).
  • Experience with user screening systems, transaction monitoring, and risk assessment procedures.
  • Familiarity with traditional banking operations and crypto business models, with an understanding of challenges faced by exchanges.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, licensure, AML, KYC, CTF, and financial crime prevention policies.
