This role is offered casually through Spinifex Recruiting and is based in Tweed Heads/Coolangatta. 

We are currently looking for a Junior Café Assistant who will be responsible for the operation of the Café including; Barista service, food preparation and serving of customers, maintaining a high standard of hygiene in kitchen and dining facilities, food quality and customer service, assist in the monitoring the profitability of food and beverage displays and dining areas.

The position requires attention to detail, flexibility, the ability to contribute to the provision of exceptional client services across the work of the Café, the capacity to respond to a busy work environment and provide other team members with assistance in times of high demand.

The functions of the role include:

• Ensure that the members and customers of the centre are welcome to the centres
• Deal with all patrons and their complaints or suggestions in a professional way
• Be aware of whom to contact if a customer has a problem.
• Communicate  with customers in a courteous and polite manner.
• Positively contribute to a team environment with a focus on continual improvement to processes and customer service
• Accountable for handling of monies received when in attendance.
• Undertake Cleaning, cooking and food preparation and serving of customers.
• Maintain a high standard of hygiene in kitchen and dining facilities, food quality and customer service.
• Assist in the monitoring the profitability of food and beverage displays and dining areas.
• Maintain equipment and appliances within the café to a high standard

The successful candidate will possess:

• Demonstrated experience to a very high standard in customer service
• Current NSW food handler qualification
• Demonstrated experience in Barista service
• A commitment to providing and maintaining quality customer service whilst dealing with multiple tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to meet the needs and expectations of customers and staff.
• Demonstrated experience to work cooperatively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
