People Manager
London

Working for a corporate blue-chip is great. You know you’re getting a really solid grounding in sophisticated HR, the company is well known so you get kudos when you tell people where you work and you’ve been able to deliver on some really interesting projects.
That said, it can be a bit frustrating: you can see opportunities to do things better but it’s not always practical to make changes (scale, process, politics or just not wanting to rock the boat can get in the way). You’d love to get involved in some of the specialist stuff your CoEs are running but you can’t take your focus off of the day job and the company is just of a scale where it’s difficult to get your voice heard.
That’s why this is such a great proposition. You’ll join a rapidly growing, boutique, management consultancy that is looking for someone that can drive the people agenda in a full function generalist role. Reporting to the MD with support already in place for recruitment and development and also senior leaders with a strong background in people strategy, your ideas will be welcomed, as a key member of the management team. Although this’ll be a change of company scale, your sophisticated HR experience will be really valued and utilised in a structure that will allow you to have a more immediate impact.
It’s a fast paced, really commercial environment, the company competes with the Big4 in terms of the projects it runs. Your stakeholders are a bright bunch (consultancy, digital experts, project managers predominately) where there is a strong ‘performance culture’ and where wellbeing and personal development are at the core of the people strategy. It’s a genuinely collaborative culture and you’ll really feel at the core.
You’ll have a generalist HR background in which you have worked with managers to solve real world problems in a commercial environment. You’ll have a solid understanding across all major pillars of HR (albeit you may benefit from developing your experience in some areas) and have strong academics (and likely CIPD accreditation or similar) to back this up.
