Hamilton Woods is working with a large multinational business is making some complex changes to their business structure and is actively recruiting multiple senior Finance roles over the next few months. Starting with this exciting Commercial Finance Business Partner position. 

The Commercial Finance Manager will provide key support to the UK&I business unit ensuring a high standard of operations, procurement, and sales, responsible for the costs and profits for all departments. This role will be the key communication between the Finance function and all internal and external stakeholders. 

DUTIES:

Day to day

  • Scenario modeling assessing potential changes in Customer volumes, Carcass balance, and new pricing strategies.
  • Ensure sign-off for tenders and proposals are in place before submitting pricing.
  • Supporting the Commercial Team to deliver a full ongoing program of inflation recovery from customers is prepared, presented, and monitored post-implementation.
  • Close working with the Commercial and Site Finance Teams ensuring EBIT by Line improvement opportunities are identified and actioned.
  • Responsible for controlling that pricing is updated correctly and following up where corrections are needed.
  • Supporting the Commercial team in Customer reviews on the presentation of model proposals where required.
  • Provide an independent review service to support the Commercial teams and ensure robust processes, a culture of rigorous financial control, and promote commercial awareness.

Period ends

  • Review commercial plans with a forensic approach and promote clarity and understanding. Collaboratively interpret the requirements of internal customers and implement solutions and assist in the definition of standard sales reporting.
  • Management of the long-term agreement with Customers and associated balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Responsible for controlling individual customer override models that are accurately used and updated.

Budgets and forecasts

  • Assist the sales forecasting and budgeting processes, and develop routines that encourage commercial participation to ensure a representative budget with appropriate narrative, sensitivity analysis, and strategic opportunities.
  • Support commercial team and ensure budgets and forecasts are delivered and supported by plans, opportunities, risks, and bridge gap overview both in terms of volume, price, and margins.
  • Accurate financialisation of the Customer Demand Plan to identify Gaps in Volume and Margin, and to support the Commercial Team in the building of Gap Bridging Plans.

IDEAL CANDIDATE: - The successful Commercial Finance Manager will ideally have the following:

  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA Qualified (Minimum 5 years post-qualified).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a larger team.
  • Driven and determined to succeed.
  • Willing to own projects from the beginning through to implementation and beyond.
  • Self-motivated to meet challenging deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with varying levels of management.
