An exciting opportunity awaits within a unique Victorian Government department focused on ensuring the integrity of crucial state-wide events.

You will be instrumental in the strategic and operational success of major events, managing key supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ongoing development and implementation of the event delivery program management approach.
  • Champion program management excellence across the organisation.
  • Chair key election delivery groups, setting agendas, leading discussions, and driving decision-making.
  • Take ownership of the strategic and operational program delivery for designated services for each electoral event, including large-scale resource estimation and procurement, and the production of secure ballot materials.
  • Lead procurement and contracting with key suppliers, ensuring high-quality performance and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the effective planning, implementation, and review of strategic, governance, operational, project, and risk frameworks and policies within the branch.
  • Provide expert and timely advice and recommendations on complex program delivery matters.
  • Lead effective resource planning and contribute to budget development.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of project/program management with a proven track record of successful outcome delivery. Experience in both private and public sectors is highly desirable, along with relevant academic qualifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple, large-scale programs within strict timeframes.
  • Exceptional written, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality briefs and presentations for diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in people leadership, management, and team building, with the ability to cultivate a positive and empowering workplace culture.
  • High-level communication, negotiation, influencing, and strategic stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and procedures in accordance with strict legislative requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong innovative, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to adapt to changing demands and timelines.
  • Proven achievement in providing high-level strategic advice to deliver business-critical outcomes in a complex environment.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships at all levels.
