Roles and Responsibilities:
- Is accountable for the delivery of the daily electrical maintenance activity.
- Is accountable for ensuring the Engineering Team Leaders and craftsmen have been given clear expectations on daily targets and that these targets are achieved.
- Will use Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Tools such as SPC, FMEAs, 5S and Lean Sigma structured problem solving techniques to drive improvements.
- Will ensure training needs are identified and training plans are delivered.
- Accountable for measurable improvement in equipment availability quarter on quarter to meet or exceed the daily throughput targets on each machine.
- Will innovate, develop, implement and monitor cost effective plant maintenance strategies that achieve business unit targets or better.
- Will innovate, develop and improve engineering practices to ensure equipment performance monitoring and control is effective
- Must provide technical expertise to restore operations in the event of unplanned failure, within and outside of normal working hours.
- Will lead relevant aspects of operational shutdowns for major maintenance and improvement works.
Requirements
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Experience within a similar role in a unionised environment
- Will have a working Knowledge of HV Distribution, AC/DC drives, PLC’s & SCADA
- Will have Engineering design capability, preferably using CAD
- Will be fully conversant with the MS Office suite of software
- A knowledge of ‘Lean’ techniques is an advantage and Strong mindset for continuous improvement
