This is a great opportunity to join the engineering team of an established manufacturing business in Ebbw Vale. Hunter Selection are working with an expanding business looking for a Production Shift Manager. This role will see you involved in production plan achievement as well as driving quality standards and continuous improvement activities. Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering the production plan and schedule to achieve OTIFNE targets while ensuring jobs are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee quality, health and safety, and housekeeping standards across the production environment to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Manage day-to-day operations by responding to changing priorities, issuing work and materials, conducting shift reporting, and ensuring effective shift handovers.
  • Support operational performance through proactive communication, continuous improvement initiatives, KPI enhancement activities, and scrap reduction programmes.
  • Lead, train, appraise, and supervise production and departmental staff during shifts, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Shift Manager with the ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong production and quality focus, combined with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and driving continuous quality improvements.
  • Possesses knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and Six Sigma Familiarity with Visual Performance Management and Leader Standard Work would be advantageous.
  • Excellent people management, communication, and organisational skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments and ensuring services are delivered right first time.
