Our client, a family-run specialist in bespoke lifting equipment, is seeking a Service Manager with strong people skills and excellent organisational ability. You’ll lead a small team of Engineers, ensuring work is completed on time and to high standards. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact in a close-knit, fast-paced environment.


Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee servicing and inspections of lifting equipment post-manufacture, ensuring compliance with safety standards (e.g. LEEA, LOLER)
  • Lead and manage a small team of Engineers, streamlining operational processes
  • Coordinate and manage diaries for both your own workload and the Engineers’ schedules
  • Ensure timely completion of inspections, repairs, certifications, and reports Handle equipment orders and schedule deliveries efficiently
  • Reallocate staff and amend schedules in response to client cancellations or changes
  • Maintain high safety and quality standards across all service operations
  • Build and nurture customer relationships, identifying opportunities to grow accounts and drive sales 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Proven experience in people and account management (minimum 3–5 years)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple schedules effectively
  • Quick-thinking problem solver with a proactive approach to resolving issues
  • Background in construction, engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to spot growth opportunities
  • Ambition to grow with the company and contribute to scaling operations
