Our client is a wellestablished manufacturer with a strong reputation for innovation and quality. They are looking for a Product Development Manager who wants to build their career by leading projects from concept through to finished product, working with customers and internal teams to create bespoke electronic solutions. They offer great flexibility with every Friday off work, and the option to start at a time that best suits you! They require experience with AutoCAD and/or CorelDRAW, and experience developing bespoke products.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Design & manage projects from initial customer concept through to production and delivery
  • Translate customer ideas (sometimes just sketches or phone conversations) into workable bespoke designs
  • Drive sales conversations with customers over the phone, building strong relationships and trust
  • Create designs for manufacture using AutoCAD and CorelDRAW
  • Advise customers on materials required for their projects
  • Collaborate with overseas manufacturing partners for electronic production
  • Prepare pricing: convert quotes, and pass accurate costs to customers
  • Manage orders, schedules, and logistics, ensuring smooth delivery of over-seas‑made products
  • Oversee product testing, calibration, and validation before delivery to guarantee quality
  • Monitor production machinery and ensure equipment is kept in good working order 


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Ability to liaise with manufacturing teams in the UK and abroad
  • Solid understanding of electronics to work confidently with bespoke products
  • Strong engineering background with practical problem‑solving skills
  • Experience using AutoCAD and CorelDRAW
  • Confident, self‑motivated personality with the drive to support sales conversations and customer relationships
  • Previous experience working with bespoke products where every project is unique
