An opportunity for an experienced Senior Renewables Engineer to join an organisation delivering heating and renewable energy services within the social housing sector. The position will help strengthen its renewables team and support the continued development of less-experienced engineers.
Role Overview
As a Senior Renewables Engineer you will service, maintain and repair renewable energy systems, including air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, exhaust air heat pumps and solar systems.
You will conduct site assessments, identify technical faults and recommend improvements to system performance. You will also provide customers with guidance on operating and maintaining their renewable energy systems.
Working alongside the wider engineering team, you will help develop effective technical solutions, support engineers who are developing their renewables experience and ensure all work meets relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
The role will cover Guildford and the surrounding area, with some geographical flexibility available.
Important Eligibility Information
To be considered for this role, you must have:

Relevant practical trade experience

An established technical background in at least one of the following: air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, refrigeration or F-gas systems, ventilation systems, or exhaust air and mechanical ventilation systems

Valid ACS qualifications and other relevant gas qualifications

A full UK driving licence with fewer than six points
-
The ability to cover Guildford and the surrounding area

Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain and repair renewable energy systems

Conduct site assessments and audits to evaluate system efficiency

Diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimise disruption to customers

Recommend improvements to system performance

Provide customers with guidance on operating and maintaining their renewable energy systems

Support less-experienced engineers developing their technical knowledge

Work with the wider engineering team to develop effective system improvements

Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and safety standards

Maintain accurate records of service activity and system performance
Requirements

Strong technical knowledge of renewable heating or ventilation systems

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

Experience delivering high levels of customer service

The ability to work effectively with a diverse customer base

Genuine enthusiasm for renewable technology

The ability to work independently and alongside the wider engineering team
Experience working within social housing is desirable but not essential.
