We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction team in Dartford. This is a permanent opportunity for a commercially focused professional with strong experience managing costs, contracts and financial performance across construction projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget, while maintaining strong commercial controls and relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs, budgets and commercial performance from pre-construction through to completion.

  • Prepare and manage valuations, payment applications, variations and final accounts.

  • Monitor project expenditure and identify commercial risks and opportunities.

  • Manage subcontractor accounts, procurement and payments.

  • Review contracts, scopes of work and commercial documentation.

  • Work closely with project teams to monitor progress and financial performance.

  • Prepare regular commercial reports and forecasts.

  • Support negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Ensure contractual and commercial procedures are followed throughout projects.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control and commercial management.

  • Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts and final accounts.

  • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Desirable

  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification.

  • Experience within housing, refurbishment, retrofit or energy efficiency projects.

  • Membership of RICS or another relevant professional body.

  • Experience using commercial or cost management software.
