We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction team in Dartford. This is a permanent opportunity for a commercially focused professional with strong experience managing costs, contracts and financial performance across construction projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered within budget, while maintaining strong commercial controls and relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities

Manage project costs, budgets and commercial performance from pre-construction through to completion.

Prepare and manage valuations, payment applications, variations and final accounts.

Monitor project expenditure and identify commercial risks and opportunities.

Manage subcontractor accounts, procurement and payments.

Review contracts, scopes of work and commercial documentation.

Work closely with project teams to monitor progress and financial performance.

Prepare regular commercial reports and forecasts.

Support negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

Ensure contractual and commercial procedures are followed throughout projects.
Essential Requirements

Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control and commercial management.

Experience managing valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts and final accounts.

Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable
-
Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification.

Experience within housing, refurbishment, retrofit or energy efficiency projects.

Membership of RICS or another relevant professional body.

Experience using commercial or cost management software.
