We are looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join a busy waste management and resource recovery operation. You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing a range of mobile and static plant, helping to keep equipment safe, reliable and operational.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical knowledge, diagnostic ability and experience working with hydraulic and electrical systems.

• Experience within waste management, recycling, construction or heavy industry is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance on mobile and static plant.
• Service and repair equipment including loaders, compactors, conveyors, shredders, balers and picking lines.
• Diagnose and repair faults across hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical looms, wiring and connections.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report recurring faults.
• Work closely with operational and engineering teams to maintain equipment availability.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
• Report hazards, defects and incidents promptly.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Maintenance Fitter or similar.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on repair experience.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with hydraulic systems.
• Experience with electrical wiring, looms and connections.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy operational environment.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Desirable

• Experience in waste management, recycling, construction or heavy industry.
• Experience with conveyors, shredders, balers, compactors or picking lines.
• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience carrying out both mechanical and electrical diagnostics.
