IT Support Technician – 1st/2nd Line Support – Oldham (PR/CR/013873) Oldham, England

Salary: GBP30000 - GBP33001 per annum + Excellent Benefits

IT Support Technician required for a market-leading manufacturing business based near Oldham, Manchester. As an IT Support Technician, you be responsible for providing technical hardware and software application support to the organisation’s internal users, primarily at a 1st/2nd line support level. The role will be a mainly on-site role.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an IT support role, preferably in a factory or operational environment.

 

Key Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Primary point of contact between company staff, the IT Services team and 3rd party specialist partners.
  • Carry out 1st/2nd line support for desktop PCs, thin client devices and laptops, mobile phones, tablets, operating systems, software, and applications.
  • Ensure incidents raised are correctly logged, communicated, and managed through to conclusion using the organisations help-desk software.
  • Provide Solutions to staff when working with existing software like MS Office products, Office 365, Dynamics 365, Teams, and others.
  • Escalate unresolved incidents to relevant IT support teams when necessary.
  • Ability to move IT equipment, desk moves, patch network connections as necessary.

 

Key Skills required:

  • Good working knowledge of Windows 7 / 10, MS Office suite of products, as well as general internet browsers.
  • Experience with building, configuring, and troubleshooting laptops/PC’s, mobile phones, tablets, and printers.
  • Developed experience delivering effective troubleshooting solutions, both onsite and remotely.
  • Understanding of how to support network connectivity and WIFI connections.
  • IT Qualifications would be advantageous, although if a strong technical aptitude and a strong customer mind set can be demonstrated this will be sufficient.
  • A forward thinker with the ability to prioritise a high workload across multiple sites, providing both on-site and remote support.

 

Salary:

Our client is offering a salary of £30,000 - £33,000 per annum plus excellent benefits and flexible working opportunities.
