MEGT RMS in conjunction with our Host Employer, are looking for a mechanically minded superstar! Our Host Employer has been operating for over 80 years in the waste, recycling, and industrial services throughout Australia. The Host Employer has a fleet more than 250 heavy vehicles they use in everyday operations.
As a 1st Year Engineering Fitting & Turner Apprentice, you will be working alongside and learning from highly experienced tradesmen. This position would suit a candidate that has a keen interest in trucks or large machinery, as you will be working on these daily.
Your duties will include and not be limited to;
- Fault finding
- Cleaning and stripping equipment
- Reconditioning of equipment
- Minor Fabrication
- Work on machinery
- Welding
- Using hand and power tools
- Attending TAFE and working towards Certificate 3 in Engineering Mechanical
- Workshop housekeeping
- Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment
- Use of computer diagnostic equipment
- Ensure workplace is kept clean and tidy
- Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this opportunity ideally you will have:
- Drivers Licenceand own transport
- Completed Year 12 High School Education
- Ability to demonstrate working in a team environment
- Superior Safety Awareness
- Work experience or completed relevant studies in automotive or engineering
- Basic understanding of mechanics and demonstrate an interest in this field
- Long term career goals to grow with the company
