Salary: GBP30000 - GBP34000 per annum + Pension

Castle Education are seeking to appoint a full time Mechanical Engineering Teacher and Programme Leader. This role is based on the beautiful North Yorkshire coast and would involve working with learners who are studying for vocational qualifications and apprenticeships in Mechanical Engineering.

The client is a well established vocational further Education college with a brand-new modernised building and facilities to access. The client offers training, mentor support and a range of other benefits including 35 days holiday plus bank holidays and discretionary days. The client can also offer onsite accommodation at a small nightly cost.

The Mechanical Engineering Programme Leader role will involve supporting cohorts of students through the programme of study. This includes teaching and assessing the core competencies of the qualification specifications but also monitoring and supporting the learners in the wider context through attendance monitoring and referrals for support where required.

The requirements and qualifications of the role include;

Level 3 or above Mechanical Engineering qualifications.

Relevant industry experience including experience working with lathes and machinery.

Industry experience and or experience supporting apprentices in a work environment.

Additional qualifications which would be advantageous

Relevant teaching qualifications including Level 3 Award in Education and Training, PGCE or Cert Ed. Or willingness to undertake the relevant qualification.

Assessor and IV qualifications

The salary for the role is between £28k and £32K
