As part of the Victorian Government’s Partners in Wellbeing Small Business Program, Each have teamed up with Commerce Ballarat to help support sole traders and small business owners in the wider Ballarat community. The program will help local small businesses to navigate the stress, challenges, and mental health impacts of COVID-19, and equip them with the tools to proactively manage their mental health and wellbeing now and into the future.

The role

As a Mental Health Consultant, you will work collaboratively with Commerce Ballarat and local businesses to identify the unique mental health and wellbeing needs of Ballarat’s business community. You will leverage your lived experience and mental health expertise to proactively co-develop a range of tailored tools and resources that address organizational needs and improve the mental health and wellbeing of their employees.

In addition to developing business level initiatives, you will also provide direct support to business owners, proactively working with them to navigate business challenges and provide referral pathways to additional supports where required. To ensure your success you will be supported by Each’s diverse range of specialist partners including NEAMI, ASCO, and Financial Counselling Victoria.



Requirements of this role;

  • Masters of Organisational Psychology or bachelor’s degree (or greater) in Psychology with commensurate experience in Human Resources, learning and development, or organizational development
  • Demonstrated ability to design programs and interventions at an organisation-wide level including service outcome evaluations
  • Proven public speaking and facilitating of small group discussions/workshops
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and nurture genuine relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to identify the signs of high prevalence mental health disorders and provide referral pathways
  • A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple competing demands


A formal qualification in Business Management or related would be highly regarded however is not essential. The successful applicant will be required to complete a Criminal History Check and hold a current Employee Working with Children Check.
